From 2010-2015 I frequently drew a desert landscape with a wounded saguaro cactus in my journals. This was based on the line “her heart is full and hollow, like a cactus tree” from the song Cactus Tree by Joni Mitchell. I longed to move to the Southwest, and finally accomplished this in early 2015. I recently revisited these old drawings and at last created the landscape in three dimensions, as I wanted to but was unable to back then.
There’s a wire on the top of the suitcase for easy hanging.
